Tutoring to improve performance in Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) in two schools
Scholarship for girls who pass PLE but can't attend secondary school due to lack of fees
Mentor/Advocacy in villages for Girl-child education
We have completed our first tutoring in the third school, Etele Primary School, in Moyo district.
The new focus is expansion to more districts. To financially accommodate the expansion, proposals are to focus on tutoring only. Nile Care members are requested to submit names of schools that fit the Nile Care Selection Criteria to the Education Committee.
Nile Care has, through the chair lady, Mrs. Opiyo, acquired 10 years of UNEB past papers for tutoring. Plans are to provide one school in each district with four folders of past papers (see photos below), one in each subject area for teachers to use in teaching.
Last year, the Board resolved to expand to two more districts besides the last three. These are Lamila Ciru in Maracha and Aria in Terego.
Nile Care is now operating in one school in each of the following districts of West Nile:
1) Arua District: Aroi Primary School
2) Ma’di Okollo District: Rhino Camp Primary School;
3) Moyo District: Etele Primary School;
4) Maracha District: Lamila Ciru Primary School;
5) Terego District: Aria Primary School.
